Coming into July, Brouillette was struggling. He was batting well below .200, with no home runs and only five RBIs. However, when July finally rolled around, Brouillette stepped his game up. On the first, he went three for six with an RBI, a run scored and a base on balls. Since the first, his stats have only been rising.
On July 3, facing the number one team in the league, the Danville Dans, Brouillette set a Prospect League record by hitting 3 big flies in one game. In that game he also sported an impressive .600 batting average, a slugging percentage of 2.400 and racked up six RBIs.
The 6'3, 185 pound catcher from Benton finally found his stroke and has been making pitchers pay for their mistakes. His outstanding run also included a modest five-game hitting streak.
Baseball is not only a game of inches, but a game of rhythm. Brouillette has found his stroke and so far this month has 12 hits, including the three dingers, batted in nine RBIs and has scored seven runs of his own.
With Brouillette's bat finally awoken from its summer slumber, he has 20 some-odd games left to improve his .200 batting average. He has struggled this summer, but if the month of July is any indication of what Brouillette has left in store this summer, setting the record for knocking three home runs in a game may not be the only Prospect League record he sets.
